I got to the gym for today’s cardio workout. I decided to concentrate on cardio for awhile…mainly because I dont have cardio machines at home so the gym is the only place I can use them. I own free-weights, work-out DVD’s, exercise bands, jumprope, and have stairs in my building to use for my other workout routines. Mainly I still don’t feel comfortable asking anyone to show me how to use the other machine that are in the gym. I wish we had a trainer who would make up personal routines for whoever wanted one. But for now I will continue on my own.

Today I only did 5 minutes on the elliptical bike because that machine bothers my knees, and I don’t know why. Then I moved over to the recumbent bike for 10 minutes. Then onto the treadmill for 20 minutes and last I went back to the recumbent bike for another 10 minutes.
For a total of 45 minutes.

It took me 19 minutes on the treadmill to even walk a mile today. It only took about 5-6 minutes on the recumbent bike to cover the same distance (both times I was on it). I wonder why that is.

While I was at the gym, a co-worker came in and was using a machine that I have not tried…called “Jacobs Ladder”. (I didn’t bring my camera so I found a picture of the machine online)

Now the co-worker said it works your glutes and is a good workout to prepare for hiking in the canyon. Guess I will add that to my next workout later this week.
