I started this blog in February 2011, and just renewed it for another year. Wow 9 years is a long time. There were months in 2012-2015 where I didn’t post anything at all. But it’s interesting to go back and see what I posted before.
I was working at the Grand Canyon National Park in 2011, when I started this blog. Sometimes 2011 seems like a whole lifetime ago. But I noticed that in the first months of posting here that I was writing about my weight and my weight is 36 pounds higher now than it was in March 2011, when I signed up for the online version of Weight Watchers.
Now do I (or any of you) really want to read another year of my weightloss stuff. After 9 years, I can’t believe that this year won’t end like the rest.
I was checking another old blog that I started in 2008, and found a post that I titled “Heaven in a Blender”.
Crispy Hippie Smoothie
8 ounces soymilk
1 scoop Designer Whey Protein~ Chocolate
1 whole banana — peeled & frozen
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon Natural Peanut Butter
1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 cup granola
Place all ingredients, except granola, in blender and process for about 45 seconds or until smooth. Add granola and pulse a few times until well mixed.
Now who can resist peanut butter & chocolate? Hey this is my healthier version of the Reese’s candybars. I am posting it here so I can remember it better. At the moment I don’t have granola..but wonder if plain oatmeal would work. I also think the protein powder might be enough chocolate without adding the unsweetened cocoa powder. If you don’t like soymilk then use almond or coconut milk instead. Luckily I have all 3.
Anyways on this other blog site I posted about food but also quite a bit about work and coworkers. I loved seeing a few pictures of the international students I wrote about. We get 3-4 students here in Death Valley but nothing like the busload of them at Grand Canyon.
So I am just trying to figure out what I want to spend my time posting about here for the next year. 9 years from now, If I look back on this year what will I want to remember? Because basically am I blogging for myself or for you?
