Random Shots With My New Camera

I finally got my new toy. But I am thinking of being greedy and buying another camera body along with a bigger zoom lens. That way when I am out getting pictures, I won’t have to take the time to change lenses on just one camera. By the time you change the lens on a camera the shot you wanted to get is gone.

What’s the price of gas where you live?
Walked to the ranger station on Wednesday. It was a beautiful weather day.
Walking back toward my store after leaving the ranger station. As you can see I live in a remote area.
This was my view this morning, right outside my door.

Now I don’t know about anyone else, but I really don’t like this new format on wordpress. Its annoying now to add pics into my blogs…and if you have read my blog enough then you know that I like to add pictures here. Why do sites think they need to change things up every year. Geez, if it ain’t broken then don’t fix it. As with alot of things I don’t mind “stalling” so-called improvements. What’s wrong with leaving things the way they are?

    • Why is it called Death Valley?

Death Valley was given its forbidding name by a group of pioneers lost here in the winter of 1849-1850. Even though, as far as we know, only one of the group died here, they all assumed that this valley would be their grave. They were rescued by two of their young men, William Lewis Manly and John Rogers, who had learned to be scouts. As the party climbed out of the valley over the Panamint Mountains, one of the men turned, looked back, and said “goodbye, Death Valley.” This name, and the story of The Lost ’49ers have become part of our western history.
